Wire, Cold Drawn, Age-Hardenable Nickel-Chromium Iron Alloy (UNS N07750)
Scope:
This specification covers wire cold drawn from age-hardenable nickel-chromium-iron alloy (X-750) for use primarily in the manufacture of helical springs. Material to this specification is supplied in either (a) the solution-treated, cold-drawn condition, (b) the solution-treated condition, or (c) the annealed condition as specified hereinafter. Requirements are included for aging of samples of supplied material at specified temperatures, and mechanical testing of samples thus aged, to demonstrate the age-hardening capability of the supplied material.
