Overview

Title:  Brake Fluid, Polyglycol, Automotive, All-Weather, Operational and Preservative Scope:  This specification covers polyglycol-based hydraulic brake fluid for use in hydraulic brake systems at ambient temperatures ranging from -55°C to 55 °C and operational temperatures down to -40 °C (see 6.1). This fluid is primarily intended for use in fully hydraulic (i.e. not actuated by air) anti-lock braking systems (ABS). This fluid is incompatible with silicone- based brake fluid as specified in MIL-PRF-46176. The fluid is identified by military symbol PBF.
