Overview
Title:  Helicopter Emergency Underwater Breathing Device (EUBD)
Scope:  The operational need for this INFO PUB arose from the observation
that many aircrew who had drowned after water entry had no other injuries. This INFO
PUB describes the ideal features of a device providing an air supply for aircrew and
passengers during underwater escape from rotary wing aircraft. There are a wide range
of such devices under the acronyms STASS, EUBD, HABD and HEEDS. The term
“EUBD” will be used in this publication.
