Overview
Title:  Identifying Hydraulic Fluid Contamination of Turbine Engine Oils by Gas Chromatography
Scope:  Standardize testing and identification of chemical cross contamination of turbine engine oils by hydraulic fluids to enable ASIC Air Forces to conduct and compare testing results. The properties of turbine engine oil and hydraulic fluid are too similar to differentiate between them with conventional analytical separation techniques. If undetected, contamination can seriously affect engine operation, oil lubricity, and thermal stability, and induce undesired chemical by-products.
