Overview
Title:  Nuclear Certification Impact Statement (NCIS)
Scope:  The NCIS initiates the nuclear certification process in accordance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 63-125, Nuclear Certification Program. The NCIS advises AFNWC/NTS that a new weapon system or a change to an existing weapon system, equipment item, software or procedure needs to be evaluated for its impact to the nuclear certification sta-tus. The NCIS provides a functional description of the proposed new system or modification and includes the Program Manager’s (PM's) evaluation of its potential for nuclear certification im-pact. If the certification process owners determine the NCIS is insufficient, the process can be delayed.
