This ITOP provides guidance for identifying and evaluating hazards associated with operations and maintenance of ground launched military weapon systems. The purpose of this ITOP is to provide uniform requirements and criteria for performing system safety analysis of materiel. Each test program must be designed to ensure that pertinent safety specifications and criteria are verified and to identify unknown hazards or unsafe procedures that may have been designed into the system.
