Error Budgets for Gun Effectiveness Modeling

Scope:

This standard provides test methods for the formulation of Naval gunnery error budgets for use with the JGEM operational tool. This document contains description of the JGEM processes, functions, and data as they relate to modeling of Naval GWS. The relationships between error budget data, guns systems, JGEM, and the measure of effectiveness provided by JGEM are also explained. Measurement and test procedures to quantify JGEM data are given where applicable. These procedures complement the following documents: NSWCDD/MP-03/85 - Joint Gun Effectiveness Model Version 1.1 User and Analyst Model for JWES 3.0 SW300-BD-ORD-010 - Preparation, Analysis and Predicted Accuracy for Naval Gunnery, Volume 1, Revision 1 OP 4454 - JMEM/SS Direct Fire Accuracy, Volume II – Navy OP 4388 - JMEM/SS Indirect Fire Accuracy, Volume II – Navy.
