Overview
Title:  The Virginia Class Submarine Program
Scope:  This case study describes how the Navy is achieving tremendous savings in the Virginia class submarine program (PMS 450) by turning to standardization initiatives to help reduce total life-cycle costs, including design, construction, operation, and disposal. Standardization also has minimized the program's overall logistics footprint and reduced the class parts library.
