Scope:
This specification describes electric, self-contained, water heaters (see 6.5.2) used aboard United States naval surface ships and submarines as a complete system and ensures that all system components are compatible and properly integrated with regard to size, function, performance, endurance, safety test procedures, shock and vibration, and standardization.
