Scope:
|
This specification covers requirements for an auxiliary detector, X-ray probe, for use with the portable battery operated, alpha survey instrument, radiac set, AN/PDR-56(). The detector shall use the scintillation detection principle with photo-multiplier tube and shall be capable of detecting soft X-rays (14-21 kiloeletron volts (Kev) associated with the radioactive decay of plutonium 239 (Pu-239).
