Overview
Title:  Abrasive Blasting Media, Ship Blast Cleaning
Scope:  This specification covers inorganic abrasive media used in the blast cleaning of metal surfaces, such as ship hulls and tanks, to remove corrosion, scale, old paint, and other foreign matter resulting in surfaces that are clean and suitable for painting. Examples of inorganic abrasive materials are minerals, recycled materials like crushed glass, by-products of metal or energy production such as slags, and engineered materials that are manufactured to serve as industrial abrasives.
