Overview
Title:  Phosphate Coating, Heavy, Manganese or Zinc Base
Scope:  This specification covers two types of heavy phosphate coating for ferrousmetals, applied by immersion. The coatings consist of a manganese phosphate or zinc phosphate base and, when specified, a supplementary treatment (see 6.1). For all types and classes, unless contraindicated on drawings or contract, materials containing hexavalent chromium should not be permitted on coated end items.
