Overview

Title:  Module, Fiber Optic, Transmitter or Receiver, Digital, General Specification for (No S/S Document) Scope:  This specification describes digital fiber optic transmitters and receivers. A digital transmitter is an optoelectronic transducer which converts a binary logic electrical input signal to a modulated optical output signal. A digital receiver is an optoelectronic transducer which converts a modulated optical input signal to a binary logic electrical output signal. A transmitter-receiver pair may be used to transfer information between two points through an optical fiber.
